Art Dammer - '65 Ford Falcon Sprint Convertible
<< Previous
It took 20 years and several trips to find a stock factory four speed 1965 Falcon Sprint Convertible but I'm pleased to say that this quest was a success.
I'm the fourth owner of this 65 SCV and after 35 years, it received a sympathetic restoration. All the original mechanical parts were rebuilt, only the rugs
were replaced in the otherwise original interior. During it's only repaint, the door jambs and trunk were left untouched. The original dealer paperwork and
window sticker from Goodrow Ford in Denver Colorado along with all receipts since it was new also came with the car. Of the original 300 Falcon Sprint
convertibles manufactured, it's estimated that 15% survived.
Entrusted with a special car, we focused on refinishing as many of the factory original parts as possible. After looking at a few shelf worn NOS grills, we
decided to have the original grill anodized by Norm Huie and company. I had met Norm at a So Cal Ford show along with his pristine 1963 Ranchero and kept in
touch over the years. His attention to detail on all of his restorations is second to none. His newly restored 1965 2 door Falcon wagon is a rolling work of art.
We received the anodized grille, head light doors and tail light buckets back and couldn't have been more pleased. The work was top notch, parts delivered when
promised and there were no surprises. Repeat business is the ultimate testament to customer satisfaction, our dash plastic and steering wheel will be restored
under Norm's watchful eye this winter in time for the 2009 FCA Nationals in Dover Delaware. |
