Ceramic Clear Coat

Often an aluminum piece has received the full restoration treatment, yet is left with untreatable pitting and flaws. This piece is no longer a candidate for anodization. The piece may have undergone more serious repair, resulting in one or more welds. Bright-dipping will not cover up residual blemishes, but rather accentuates them. When an aluminum piece has been profiled and polished to its limit, and imperfections still persist, a ceramic clear coat is often advised. Clear-coating will obliterate the majority of untreatable speckling/pitting and visually hide most imperfections. The finish mimics anodizing, and provides a durable, highly-reflective finish. Ceramic clears are also available in toned-down semi-gloss sheens.
