Reanodization Risks
The customer needs to understand that reanodizing is not an exact science, with a handful of variables that cannot
be controlled or predicted. Perfection will simply not result if pitting resides prior to the dipping process.
Yet, if the piece suffers from aging that has taken its toll farther than the sanding/polishing stage allows, these
blemishes will be visible in the finished product. One needs to understand, that all precautions are taken during
the repair, but often these micro-pits will be seen in the end. Know, too, that if breakthrough does occur, a weld
is necessitated, resulting in a slight “rebirth-mark” where the new metal of a different alloy was applied. These
potential blemishes in the finished product, if they do occur, are not in any way offensive, rarely detracting from
the piece’s show-presentation when complete.
